Kindness Card Writers

Receiving an unexpected card with a kind message can be surprisingly powerful. It reminds people that they matter and helps foster a stronger sense of care and community. These cards are for people in the community who may feel lonely, stressed, or unappreciated—such as the elderly, hospital staff, delivery workers, or everyday strangers.

How it works

You’ll handwrite thoughtful, heartfelt cards with messages of kindness, encouragement, and hope. These cards can be decorated and creatively designed to spread positivity to people in your community, such as seniors in care homes, essential workers, or individuals going through a tough time. Whether it’s a message of thanks, motivation, or simply a kind note to lift someone’s spirits, each card brings a small light into someone’s day.

How we count hours

As a reminder, each of our programs tracks volunteer hours in its own unique way. For this program, here’s how hours will be counted:

  1. Low-effort or duplicate cards: Generic or repeated messages may result in a deduction of 15 mintues. Put thought into each one.

  2. Hour Calculation: Every 6 well-written cards will count as 1 hour of volunteer time.

  3. Card Requirements: Cards should be legible, decorated, and include a kind message of at least two sentences.
