Start a solo
Starting a solo chapter means leading a chapter on your own, where you take on every major responsibility—from planning events to handling finances and logging your hours. This is ideal for individuals who want to earn service hours in a more independent and impactful way. It’s a great option for those who prefer working solo or want more flexibility and control in how they contribute.
You do not need prior experience to start a solo chapter. What matters most is your willingness to take initiative and your creativity in designing events or projects. Chapters are expected to come up with original ideas regularly—ideally at least one event or project every month, depending on your availability and goals. These events don’t have to be large; they just need to be meaningful, well-planned, and aligned with Ever’s mission.

As a solo chapter leader, you will:
-
Serve as both the event planner and the treasurer, managing all logistics and budgeting for your chapter.
-
Log your own service hours and clearly state what you did for each hour earned.
-
Be eligible for a higher volume of service hours than a general volunteer, as starting and running a chapter reflects a significant leadership commitment.
-
Benefit from strengthened leadership, organization, and project development skills, which can support future personal, academic, and career growth.

There is a limit of two chapters per city, unless there's a strong reason to allow more. If two chapters already exist in your city, you may request to join one of the existing ones or work with us to determine another solution.

All chapters are assessed based on their annual plans and event outcomes. You are expected to hold events consistently, though more frequent initiatives are encouraged.

Note for Solo Chapters:
We understand that you’re taking this on alone. Ever will never expect solo leads to operate at the same scale as group chapters. Accommodations will always be made, and you are welcome to ask for help at any time. Good luck—we’re excited to hear from you!
